Salvador Romero
Carver and sculptor.
Salvador Romero's carvings from stones he finds at his native Cochiti embody the power of original found Pueblo fetishes thought to be the spirits of animals imprisoned in rocks. Salvador says each carving is already there in the rock waiting for him to release it. His creations are widely acclaimed as small sculptures, and several have been cast in bronze.

Salvador will be our guest artist the weekend before Indian Market, Saturday and Sunday, August 14 & 15, 1 to 5 p.m. We hope you will join us to meet this very special carver!
