Jacob Koopee
Precisely painted, intricate designs.
Jacob Koopee is a nephew of Dextra Quotskuyva who encouraged and inspired him in his pottery. And like Dextra's, Jacob's pottery has won numerous awards. His pottery is all traditionally hand coiled and fired, and precisely painted in intricate designs using a yucca brush. He often uses subtle colors as accents along with the traditional red and black. Jacob won "Best of Show" at both the 2005 Santa Fe Indian Market and the Heard Museum Indian Fair.
